How to subtract the two different sheets in the excel

    This is ramana, please help me how to subtract from sheet1 to sheet2 and i wanna place those results in sheet3


    those are in the same work book. but the cell should be having some rage that is sheet1(A2-->E20) and sheet2(A2-->E20).

    Welcome to Ozgrid.


    Do you mean you want a formula in sheet3 cells where the cells of sheet1 and sheet2 are used in a subtraction formula?


    If so, then in a cell in sheet3, say cell A1: ='Sheet1'!A2-'Sheet2'!A2


    Change the order of the cells as needed and copy the formula to other rows/columns on sheet3 as required.


    If you mean you want to subtract the range of cells A2:E20 on sheet1 from the same of cells on sheet2 then you could use:
    [f]
    {=Sheet1!A2:E20-Sheet2!A2:E20}
    [/f]


    The above is an ARRAY formula and must be committed using the Ctrl + Shift + Enter keys in combination.


    If that is not what you meant then explain more clearly and give an example.
