Tell me 5 easy things to do on Excel Quick!

  • I have to take a beginners test Fri Noon at a temp agency/ I know almost nothing about excel. Pleeease tell me 5 things I should be able to do to show I know SOMEthing about Excel. (i,e using keys for entering data--do I highlight the cell first?) Gawd . . . Thanks! J.

  • One problem I encountered about three years ago when taking these tests for a temp agency is that the test will only accept one solution. Thus, even if you learn a short-cut that is faster/more efficient, if the person writing the test did not realize that there are others ways to accomplsih the same task, you will get it "wrong."
    :( :o

Oh well, I now have a permanent job as a senior analyst - they don't care how I get the answer, only that I get it. :guitar:

    Software: OpenOffice 3.0/NeoOffice 3.0 on Mac OS X 10.5.6
    Humanware: Older than dirt

Old, slow, and confused - but at least I'm inconsistent!

  • Seems to me the easiest thing to do in excel is hit the litlle cross in the top right hand corner and head for the pub.
Or is that too obvious ?

  • Thanks to all who responded to my inquiry about the excel test. I have to take it on Tuesday instead of FRI & reading your notes, tips & suggestions really helped me feel better about the whole thing. Thank you from the bottom of my small animal brain. Seriously-- I couldn't have done it without you. Wish me luck! Thanks, Juana!:flower:

  • You are most welcome Juana!

We expect you to be back with your questions and possibly answers to others in this forum, which you will certainly be able to do, after your exam.

    BEST OF LUCK.

Hope to see you back on this forum.
