Friends, I have time showing 08:31 and trying to convert to 08:31:00 AM, What is the formula to get this done.
The idea is to calculate the total time a person has spent at work in a month..
Convert h:mm to hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Excel formula

That's formatting not the underlying value.

Re: Convert h:mm to hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Excel formula
Roy,
I tried formatting of the cell and also using "TEXT(D1,"hh:mm:ss AM/PM")" but when i try to sum for the given days it is showing 0:00:00, where as my result should be 19:42:00. Have attached the spreadsheet which might help on what i am trying to do.. -
Re: Convert h:mm to hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Excel formula
why not just sum the D cell ?
whats the reason for trying to convertalso in D you can format
Custom
then choose
H:MM:SS AM/PM -
Re: Convert h:mm to hh:mm:ss AM/PM - Excel formula

You shouldn't need Text To Column, the times aren't entered as numbers
