Hello, I have a simple example to illustrate using the inbuilt consolidate functionality that combines data from 4 workbooks: Admin, Gallery, Cafe and Marketing.
After setting up the consolidation and testing, I show how to record updating the consolidation and attach to a button. Nothing tricky - it's a very basic intro to macro recording.
Now, when I look at the code on my personal laptop, the source information is four copies of the first. My students have the correct source information of four different files. That is: mine is
Sources:=Array( _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Admin.xlsx]Admin'!R14C1:R19C5", _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Admin.xlsx]Admin'!R14C1:R19C5", _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Admin.xlsx]Admin'!R14C1:R19C5", _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Admin.xlsx]Admin'!R14C1:R19C5")
but the students see
Sources:=Array( _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Admin.xlsx]Admin'!R14C1:R19C5", _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Gallery.xlsx]Gallery'!R14C1:R19C5", _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Cafe.xlsx]Cafe'!R14C1:R19C5", _
"'C:\Excel Exercise Files\[Budget Marketing.xlsx]Marketing'!R14C1:R19C5")
Both of my personal laptops produce the four duplicates but all other laptops I've tested produce the correct recording.
I'm totally lost - I just can't think of what could be causing this behaviour. I've just repaired one installation of Office on my laptop but it made no difference.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
TIA
