Vlookup to pull a data from adjacent column

I am attempting to us a vlookup formula and quite frankly struggling.

I have a sheet labeled Control and I have Cell D7 that selects from a Cell Validation dropdown list frome sheet2 (list)

On sheet2(list) i have a small sample of data.

My desire is to select on CONTROL sheet D7 and have the corresponding Name on LIST sheet populate.

Is Vlookup the proper way to tackle this problem?

Additionally, can you have an Cell Validation Autofill? I cannot find anything that allows this ability.

Thanks and appreciate the consideration attached is a simple example

In F7 use

=VLOOKUP(D7,list!A2:F7,6,0)

To fill the DV down, just select D7 down as far as you want, then select "Data Validation" from the ribbon & click yes to the message that appears

Fluff13 thanks for the quick response. I honestly could not figure out what the (6,0) in the formula meant. I just butchered it up. thanks again. do you know of any autofill capability?

If you mean for the data validation, then yes. I answered that in my previous post.
