Double particular data in Excel columns

Hi,

I have an excel with list names in column A as below

DEM_1000987645__Adam sela_Retailerlist_200098.pdf

SEM_1000987435__Joe Dien _Rmprocruitlist_200038.pdf

I want the same names in column B in this pattern

DEM_1000987645__1000987645_Adam sela_Retailerlist_200098.pdf

SEM_1000987435__1000987435_Joe Dien _Rmprocruitlist_200038.pdf

The 10 digit code number need to be repeated twice

Kindly help me to develop a macro for the above scenario

If my understanding is correct, you can test following macro

        st = Cells(i, 1).Value
        If Len(st) > 0 Then
            res = Split(st, "_")

            Cells(i, 2).Value = output
         End If
    Next i
End Sub

Hi Carim,

Thanks for your quick response.

I have the excel file in "D:\Test\Final.xlsx"

Can you change the above code to open that file and add the new column with the requested format .

And in the column A the data is around 80k rows

Does it produce ... or not ... the expected result ...???

The macro ran successfully but there is no data in that particular file where I added the code...

Quite obviously ... if you run a macro ...in an empty file ... with NO DATA ...

it will be quite difficult to determine if the macro works fine or not ...!!!
