I’m very new to excel but wanted to give this a go. I want to sort data of people by Military Rank then by alphabetical order. The problem is across the service, multiple ranks have the same value. For example a Private and a Senior Aircraftman would be ranked the same. An example would be
PVT John Matthews
SAC Tim Tims
SAC Aidan Alpha.
the best I could sort them would be to
PVT Johns Matthews
SAC Aidan Alpha
SAC Tim Tims
when it should be
SAC Aidan Alpha
PVT Johns Matthews
SAC Tim Tims
if that makes sense.
I have been scratching my head about this one for a while now and this is my last resort. Feedback is very much appreciated.
