Conditional Formatting to highlight column based on date in row

  • Hi Folks

Firstly, thank goodness the forum is back, please don't scare us like that again... :(

I'm sure this is going to be fairly simple, but my head is spinning with other things at the moment including very short deadlines, but that's my worry.

Anyway, I have a row with dates in the cells and another cell (G2), that contains a date that updates weekly. I'd like to highlight the column, or at least a range of cells in a column where the two dates match.

I make a row highlight but not for some reason the column. Any ideas please??

    Many thanks.

  • Hi DezB,

    Hopefully the Forum is BACK ... !!!! :) :) :)

As usual, a tiny sample file would dramatically speed up the process ... ;)

Say, you are dealing with row # 5 ... you could test =A$5=$G$2

Excellent, thank you. I have no idea why I couldn't get it to work but thank you and keep safe.

    Have a great day.
