Saving data based on date without having to use a macro

  • Hi Folks

I'm sure that the answer to this is going to be no, but just to ask it anyway. Is there a way via a formula that will look at a date, (a w/c date for example). take the data from a cell and place it into a table, then when the w/c date changes the following week, take the new data from that same cell and place it into the same table but into a new cell without overwriting or deleting previous data?

I'll put together a sample sheet shortly, but thought I'd ask the question in the meantime.. ;)

    Kind regards

  • Hi,

What is your own definition of "without having to use a macro" ...???

    1. Either it means you do not want to have to run a macro ...

    or

    2. It means you do want the process to be Automatic as the date changes ...

  • Hi Carim.

I'd rather not have any macros at all as the workbook is due to be kept on SharePoint which sometimes breaks or doesn't allow macros to run, manually or automatically. I just wondered if there was another way of doing it.

Hope all is well with you by the way...

    Best wishes

  • Hi Carim

Thank you for that, much appreciated. I had a feeling the step on copying and pasting was going to be needed.

    You're a genius... :)

    Kind regards

  • Glad to hear the "No VBA" solution is fine with you :)
