Pull information from lists of similar names.

I'm trying to "automate" what we refer to as a productivity report.

Currently, one tab/sheet contains hours worked, another contains units of contact and a third pulls information from both of the other two.

The tricky part is that the names on the units tab aren't always an exact match for those on the hours tab. For instance John E. Smith Jr., might be listed as John Smith.

How can I pull information on partial matches like this?

Thank you for the advice.

However, I was hoping to use a formula, array or otherwise, so others can use/modify the sheet without having to install addins.

I've run across many that seem like they should work. But, I've not been able to "adjust" them to meet my needs.

Thanks! I think that will do the trick. I've only found a few that aren't returning values. But, I think I can figure them out.
