Vlookup with previous search rows

Please see the attached worksheet wherein you have to enter the reference number 1 and the values gets displayed in reference number 2.

As the reference number column in in column C and to display the date which is in column A, I do not know the vlookup formula for that.

Your data is not set out in to enable VLOOKUP to work. The data should be in a Table format with no completely empty rows or columns within the data. The lookup vaslue should be in the first column.

You also have the same references multiple times.
