Changing cell color based on radio button selection

  • Hello,

How can I change the color of a cell based on a radio button selection. So, I have two radio buttons in the cell (titled pass and fail) if pass is selected then I want the cell to change to green - if fail is selected I want the cell to change to red. I have searched for a solution but cannot seem to find one.

    Thanks!

    Hi Triciam,

could you upload an example file? it would better help me solve your problem :)

Select one of your options (hold down the Control key while clicking) and then Control 1 to bring up the Format Control dialog. Click the Control tab and assign the cell link as D2. Then OK out. D2 will now conatain 1 for pass and 2 for fail. Format the cell to show the font color as none and assign conditional formatting to show green or 1 and red for 2. That should do it.

  • So I got this far and just found this thread to try to solve the next hurdle which is that when I add more buttons, the cells stop working individually. I select the next button down, the linked cell changes to 3 and turns the 1st and 3rd yes buttons green. I Tried linking the next set of radio buttons to a different cell, but it still keeps track in the same cell so it changes to 3. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Any advice?
