Vlookup? Index? Match?

  • Re: Vlookup? Index? Match?

Hi excellearning, welcome to OzGrid :)

It's not very clear what you are asking, but basically you can't use VLOOKUP or INDEX/MATCH unless you have a unique value that you are looking up against. Perhaps if you could explain a little more about what you are trying to achieve we can offer an alternative solution?

Basically the report shows: SALES REPORTS FOR EMPLOYEES ( SOLD/TOTAL/%)
    Col A Col B Col C Col D Col E Col F
    REGION
    EMP1
    PROD1 3 3 100
    PROD2 2 4 75

    EMP2
    PROD1 4 5 80
    PROD2 3 3 100

I only want to find the values in Col F for each employee.

    Quote from S O;734791

In your example image, would you be searching against "TECH1", "TECH2" etc... ?

Yes, that is correct. ie - L4HH results for each TECH. Many thanks!

    Try this:

Put the Employee number that you want to look against in K2

    In M2, place this formula:

    =INDEX(F:F,MATCH(K2,B:B,0)+2)

NOTE: I am assuming that the sample data you supplied in the image is a true reflection of your actual data and that it is laid out in the same way for each employee record.
