Hi. I use quite a lot of macros and generally have to mess around with them a bit until I get them doing what I want them to do. However, the macro window keeps closing all the time which means that every time I make a change I have to open the macro selection window and root through until I find the macro I'm working on again. Is there a way to stop this window from auto closing.

You can have the VB Editor open and the Excel workbook. Just open the VB Editor from the Developer Tab or Alt + F11

Thanks Roy but it's the window labelled "macro" with macro name: and then the list of macros that I'd like to keep open but it closes every time I do something in it (ie delete macro). Any ideas about how to keep this open?

It sounds like you need to create your own Tab in the Ribbon for using your macros. Read the information here

Just an observation. None of the replies actually answer the question. They are both "work-arounds", which are not what the original question is looking for.

Sometimes you need workarounds when there isn't a direct solution to the problem. Also, since you aren't the OP, you can't really say for sure what he/she was looking for. As this post is 6 years old, we're unlikely to find out.

It's not clear what was actually required but re-reading it maybe viewing the two windows side by side (tiled) or if possible with two monitors.
There's not much point making observations unless you have a better suggestion.

Hello and Welcome to the Forum
As Rory pointed out ... kind of difficult to propose a solution to a problem which is not clearly explained ...
Would you mind describing specifically the issue you are trying to fix ...
