programming word document form to flag uncompleted fields

  • Hello,
I would like to programme a template form in MS word so that fields which arent completed are flagged up or the user can't progress to the next part of the form unless the previous field is completed. Another useful thing to do would be to prevent users printing the form unless all fields are complete. Is this possible on VBA and how would you go about doing this?

    Thanks in advance

Probably possible - certainly 'Fields' can be checked before printing - but it all depends on just what type of 'fields' these are...

Upload a sample document (Ignore references to workbooks - boilerplate text below).

You can simply loop through the fields - but the loop depends on what type of control it is...

For example, the 1st loops through ContentControls, the 2nd through Textboxes (which are contained in Shapes, as in your example document).

Admittedly, these are general examples only and they only show the text, but are based on the uploaded document. Some variation of them should work for you...

    Thanks Cytop,
but would you be able to tell me how to highlight unfilled boxes rather than showing what is in the boxes?
