Please see the excel sheet wherein I have calculated the depreciation of an Asset.
Is there any one line formula to calculate the depreciation so that I need not calculate the depreciation for every year.

Re: Depreciation
Here you go !
[BFN]=SUMPRODUCT($D$9:$D$16*$E$3/365*$C$9:$C$16)[/BFN]
The Formula in your sheet need to have an additional bracket, currently it is incorrect!
Your formula needs to be
[BFN]=(($E$3*D9)/365)*C9[/BFN]
Re: Depreciation
Sir it does not work properly
please see updated excel sheet
As per original data the WDV should be 162481
Whereas your formula shows 4846027
Re: Depreciation
Please see the attached sheet. I have changed the Formula. the WDV is in Minus!
[ATTACH=CONFIG]68602[/ATTACH]
Re: Depreciation
how ??
I would like the WDV to be 162481 as given in my earlier sheet. , minus would not work sir.
Please see my earlier depreciation (1).xlsx
After applying your formula the WDV should come to 162481
Re: Depreciation
Sorry. I dont think I know how to do this. However I shall try to do this.
May be someone else can help you!
Re: Depreciation
Hey Matank
I don't think you have quite grasped the concept of depreciation. You can depreciate an asset over a number of years and the maximum you can depreciate the asset is 100% of its purchase value. Your table has your depreciation at 220% which is creative accounting at its finest.
Can you please clarify this for us?
Thanks
