Font Disappeared...

    This post relates only to Word:


    I've been working on a report for a couple of days now in Word, and now the font type (Optima) has disappeared from the drop-down list??? I have automatic updates enabled, but I never expected them to wipe out a font from my collection. Odd. Anyone heard of this?

    Yep, thought so but just wondered. I suppose this is the first time it's happened? Do you know which program added the font to your system? I have Office 2000 loaded but no sign of the Optima font.

    I'd never even noticed that I had Optima until a few days ago --just after an Auto Update. Maybe it was a temporary font? As if it was 'timed' or something? No clue. I run Windows 2000 Pro.

    When you first noticed Optima, were you working on a document created by someone else? If not, did you format some text using Optima?

    Sorry then Bubbis, I'm at a loss. I know if you open a document with a font you don't have that font still shows in your font list. Sorry I can't help you except perhaps to narrow it down to an update issue. Good luck!

    Though I am not an expert in exorcism but I will strongly suggest that you immediately get a new puter.... something is just not right... you know these appearing/disappearing things can be very :yikes: :) jk
