YTD Figures

  • Hi Experts

I have almost finished a project I am working on, but now need a little help, please.

I am preparing a budget by month for 3 different centres.

I have 2 reporting sheets, 1) By Centre and Month & 2) Consoildated and Month

I am stuck for the YTD for both Centre and Consolidated. I need the YTD to show figure from Jan - Nov (If chosen month is Nov).

I have attached a sample worksheet (of a much larger one).

I appreiciate I may not have set out the data as efficiently as I might, but I could not think of another way.

I look forward to hearing possible solutions.

    Thanks

Good job on finding a solution on your own - always feels great to figure things out. Thanks, too, for posting your solution for the benefit of others on the forum.

It seems you could use a Pivot Table to get the results you are looking for - have you tried using a PT?
You could convert the data range into an Excel Table, which Excel will treat as a dynamic named range. Use the new Table as the data source for the Pivot Table then just refresh the PT whenever data are changed.

That's why I don't use pivot tables. Formula solutions update automatically.

    Ali :)
