Excel Cell set as a "text box"?

  • I'm looking for the best way to have a "note" placed in an excel spreadsheet.

I have a cell names "Journal" where I would like to have approximately 20 lines of text. I only have a very small space to work with so this cell needs to have "scrolling" capabilities so I can read the text a little at a time.

Is there a way to do this in excel?

  • If you make the formula bar visible, you will be able to read your text in the formula bar when you select the cell. (Tools>Options>View. Formula Bar checked.)

  • Hi Croniana
I would probably use the comment tool. This way when you select the cell the comment text box pops up and you can format several ways
    Hope this helps
