Forum improvement

  • Not really something cool with Excel, but "possibly better".

Dave has added a feature to the Forum that lists similar threads to a particular question. So give some thought to the key words in your thread's title , scroll to the bottom of the page of the thread and you will see a list of similar questions with replies.Might speed things up.

Links now appear at top of Thread

    Hi All

What about having a feature where we can select a previous page to view, other than the first 5, or the last one? So if I want to view page 12, then I can.

Often I log on every few days, and something that has caught my eye is, by then, 5 or 10 pages in the past. Maybe I'm missing something, but I have to go back one page at a time, which is tedious.

    Thanks for your consideration

    Stephen

    Hi Stephen,

No need to go back 1 page at a time. If you click the 5 then you will obviously go back 4 pages and the page numbers adjust to display page 1 thru 9. now you can jump 4 pages backwards or forwards.

Also if you edit your CP profile you can change the number of post displayed on a page. If you set that at 40 you would probably get a few days worth of posts on a couple or three pages.

Another approach would be to use the New Posts link. This should show you all the new posts since you last logged in.

Yet another way would be to subscribe to the posts that catch your eye. Then via your profile / subscription links you could go straight to it.

Not to be picky but from Quick Links, select Edit Options rather than Edit Profile. Thanks for the tip Andy.

Often don't have a lot of time to spend on the site, so I'm not yet fully familiar with it.
