How to make your spreadsheet Tables easier to read by applying automatic alternate row coloring.
For this example I will assume the range A1:C20 is the Table range.
- Select the range A1:C20 starting from A1
- Go to Format>Conditional Formatting
- Choose Formula is: and add the formula: =AND(MOD(ROW(),2),COUNTA($A1:$C1))
- Click Format and then Patterns and choose desired pattern
- Click OK then OK again
Now as you add data to the table every second row will be colored using the chosen pattern.
KeyWords: alternate row color, conditional formatting, color rows, colour rows, format rows, second row, every nth row.
