Calculating Time Differences in Excel [SOLVED]

I am trying to figure out how to calculate times in Excel. I was using the text function to do this, then I realized we could not do caluclations on text fields.
So, now I am using the =(b1-a1)*1440 to caluclate the minutes to get time differences. I have found that to be the best way so far, but we come into issues when we are doing multiple days of time. Is there an easier way to do time differentials that can be calculated?

You can use custom format

Use d,hh, mm this will return days , hours, mins.

Try this one:

=24*(IF(A1>B1,B1+1-A1,B1-A1))

I thought an IF statement would work, and it did. Thanks again for the help everyone.
