How do I express each of the following conditional formulas:
If D6 is greater than D7 and D8
If D6 is greater than D7 but less than D8
If D6 is greater than D8 but less than D7
If D6 is less than D7 and D8
If D6 is greater than D7 but equal to D8
If D6 is greater than D8 but equal to D7
If D6 is less than D7 but equal to D8
If D6 is less than D8 but equal to D7

Re: Conditional Formula: greater than less than
Hi DK,
You can use AND function. Try the following:
AND($D$6>$D$7,$D$6>$D$8)
AND($D$6>$D$7,$D$6<$D$8)
AND($D$6>$D$7,$D$6<$D$8)
AND($D$6<$D$7,$D$6<$D$8)
AND($D$6<$D$7,$D$6=$D$8)
AND($D$6=$D$7,$D$6>$D$8)
AND($D$6<$D$7,$D$6=$D$8)
AND($D$6=$D$7,$D$6>$D$8)HTH.

Re: Conditional Formula: greater than less than
This is not working for conditional formatting. How do I use each one for conditional formatting
-
Re: Conditional Formula: greater than less than
Hi dk,
This should work. The formula either returns either TRUE or FLASE and accordingly the formating applied if the conditions returns TRUE.
Please make sure you are making the proper settings.
(CD-Formula Is...Format)HTH

Re: Conditional Formula: greater than less than
For some reason, its not working:
For example:
D6=4, D7=0, D8=2In D49, I set up the conditional format with Formula is: AND($D$6>$D$7,$D$6>$D$8)
and the cell is set to turn the red, because this condition is
met by D6 in D49, but the cell does not turn red. What am I missing -

Re: Conditional Formula: greater than less than
Hi dk,
Are mentioning "=" in the formula Is box of CD.
Copy the following as it is into the formula is box.
[vba]
=AND($D$6>$D$7,$D$6>$D$8)
[/vba]HTH
