Protecting one cell in a worksheet

It has been a while since I have done this.

How do prevent a cell from being edited in a spreadsheet. Do I go to the VB editor=>worksheet properties=>enableSelection=>xlRestricted? Or, can I use data validation.

Plus, how do I do it. Like I said, I haven't done it in over a year and have forgotten how to do it.

I forgot, do I have to select the cells that I want locked or is it the other way around?
