Custom numeric formats

Anybody have a suggestion as to how I can format a cell so that Excel will automatically take the last digit, divide by eight and express as a decimal? For example, 5667 would appear as 566.875.
(566 7/8).
I can easily format the cell to recognize 566 7/8 and change it into 566.875, but the data I am entering comes in the form 5667. Thanks for any help...

Assuming your value is in D3:
=ROUNDDOWN(D3/10,0)+(D3-ROUNDDOWN(D3/10,0)*10)/8
will give you your required result

I don't know if a custom number format can do that but here's a formula that will convert it:

=INT(A1/10) +RIGHT(A1,1)/8
