Something simple

This may sound stupid to everyone else, but I'm new at this. How do I get Excel to divide? I'm attempting to determine the gross margin percentage of total sales on a spreadsheet. I figured out everything else except for the division function. Even entering a simple number, as in 10, and a simple divisor, such as 5, generates a response of zero. Have I been out of school so long I've forgotten how to divide?

It works!!! Now that I've finished celebrating, I can get back to work...! (Nah!) I should have come here before I stayed up for hours last night trying to make it work.
