Recording macros in Word 2003

    can some one tell me if you cant select shapes while recording a macro in Ms Word 2003 r i have a bad install wich i did twice . I use to be able to do this in Word 2000

    Hi,
    I am by no means an expert (or even facile) at VBA in Word, but I gave it a try in Word 2003. If the shape was directly on the page I was able to select and modify it while recording, but if it was on a canvas, all I could do was select the canvas, but not modify the shape. The recorded code did capture the actions I was able to do.
