Create report equally with Data and Subdata

  • I have a table with

    Code
    familylastname, dadfirstname, dadbirthdate, momfirstname, mombirthdate
    'then a subdatasheet with
    childfirstname, childlastname, childbirthdate

I am trying to make a report like this

    Code
    Birthdate, Lastname, Firstname
    Birthdate, Lastname, Firstname
    Birthdate, Lastname, Firstname

where it will put everyone in order by birthdate assigning the main tables last name to both firstnames, and put the subdata on the same sorting field with the main data. The childs lastname is assingned separtly. This is a church database that we are trying to make a Birthday list in order from Jan to Dec.

    Chris,

Assuming that you have two tables, one with parents and one with children then you need a Union query that will combine the data.

OK so here is where I show my access ignorance.

I spent about an hour trying to figure out how to apply that into vba.
Naturally that is not how it is done. I love that union feature and will of course use it all the time now. I made the union query successfully. Once I found it in the menu it talk about minute to set it up. Thankyou very much I more than appreciate the help. :thanx:
