Hi,
How about:
C1=A1*(1-B1)
which will give the remaning value i A1
Thanks dennis but that doesnt seem to work I have attatched the document in question... I would like to be ble to enter the UK List Price then the discount and have excel calculate the cost for me maybe seeing the document will make it clearer. Thanks again
Try
=G11-(G11*H11)
in your cell I11
=G11-(H11*G11)
That is what I get as well.
Thanks guys That has worked !! how do I format the whole column to do that ??
Thanks again !! :bouncy:
Drag the formula down your column as in youe eg attached and amended
I can see that you have done it but could you pls elaborate ... how do I drag the formula ??
thanks
Lucy
Select the cell with the formula in. Move your cursor to the bottom right corner until it becomes a + and drag down. The formula will be copied.
Alternatively copy & paste your formula.
Be aware that it is sometimes necessary to use absolute references, although not in this case
I done it thanks Roy ! Thats great :bouncy:
Glad to help
Roy
