Word styles & Headings

The attached document is a template. It has Headings and sub Headings. Headings are numbered 1.;2. etc with subheadings - 1.1;1.2 ;1.3 etc. However, Heading2 subheadings do not cgange to 2.1;2.2 etc.

Any one know how to sort this. Thanks in advance

1.1 Test 3

1.3 test 7
1.4 test 8
1.5 tesy 9

Ok works for me, what I did

Type 1. / [Tab] / test 1/ [Enter]
Should bring up automatic 2. / type test 2 / [Enter]
Should bring up automatic 3 [enter]

This cancels auto numbering and returns – blank start line
Note ***[Enter] here cancels auto numbering
Type 1.1 / [tab] / test 3 / [enter]
Should bring up automatic 1.2 / type test 4 / [enter]
Should bring up 1.3 [enter]
This cancels auto numbering and returns – blank start line
Type 3. ……. ..[enter]
Bring up 4 ….. [enter]
Enter cancels
Type 1.3 …….. [enter]
Brings up 1.4

This is what I believe you have to do, re input the auto number when cancelled.
