vba goto specific cell

i have this:

Sheets("Sheet2").Application.Goto Reference:="R1C1"

it is supposed to go to cell A1 in Sheet2.

but it doesn't go to sheet 2 ???

i thought it worked, but it doesn't always.

i want to include in my beforeclose command that the cell should be there so next time it's opened (with macro on or off) it will be in a1 of sheet2.

is there a line command, something using application.goto ?

i see what you are saying, it is close to what i get when i record a macro.

Application.GoTo takes a range Object as its argument, not a String. E.g

Application.GoTo Sheet2.Range("A1"),True
