File Remains Open In Vba Background

Hello everybody,

since a week I use Excel2003 and I've noticed something strange.
When I open a file in excel and I close it without closing excel-application, the file remains open in the Vba-background.

This is not a big problem but when I reopen the file I get 2 versions in the Vba-explorer. This continues until I close the whole excel-application. So everytime I reopen the file the vba-explorer adds a new version...

Is somebody familiar with this? Is this normal or is this a bug?

thanks for the reply.
I've noticed that at home I don't have the problem...
So I'm not sure what the problem is at work, the first thing I thought was installation, but I've noticed that the problem is on every PC at work... so it's a global problem. Thanks for the reply anyway, now I know that it's probably a installation problem.

The problem occurs with or without Vba-code... so you don't even have code to have the problem.

I don't have the google desktop.
