John Terry

John Terry doesn't even make the list of nominees mate. And quite rightly too.

In my opinion, if there's a world class player in the England team (& it's a big if), it would have to be Steven Gerrard. :p

As for Lampard, he was one of the so-called "superstars" who totally disappeared for the World Cup. Let's face it, England are pretty ordinary as a team, despite there being some potentially good players available.

Well, I don't know what this is all about but, I did see the word "Football" so my vote goes to Roy Williams of the Dallas Cowboys for player of the year.

  • Re: Fifa World Player Of The Year 2006

Well Jack & my eldest son were at Stamford Bridge on Saturday Vs Portsmouth 2-1 victory and of cause eyes glued to John Terry and I have to say as openly biased as Jack is re John Terry he is the class or playing Left Centre Half it is that simple -- the TV does not do justice at all, this is true for many live to TV coverage from the fans i spoke with at Chelsea on the day and they are all season ticket holders for years and of cause they all know many that are in the same areas, there views are the same regarding this

If honest the only player that is in Jacks life time has made such an impression was Kenny Dalglish, however John Terry does in fact over take Dalglishs crown

However it is important to know Jack is not Chelsea fan - just a VERY biased John Terry fan!

Insect? Football? Man, the sun must be getting too hot down under...

There's no insects in sports and a football is not round.

    Respectfully,

That was quick, I was expecting more heated comments from Will and Jack.

Too hot down under? - we got our first rain since July today, absolutely brilliant

I think I probably won't get too many comments from Enggland as they are still basking in their win of a few years ago.....

    Cheers,

If anyone managed to catch the Champions League draw of Barcelona Vs Chelsea the match was brilliant ending in 2-2. On Jacks arrival to work the following morning no one, and Jack means no one wanted to speak to me, knowing two words world be said by Jack

    John Terry

Again Captain indestructible won the nod down deep in the box and Didi did the magic; add Lampsies touch what more can be asked?

Must have been a different match to the one I saw on TV. Far from brilliant.

Its of cause an opinion, Barca Vs Chelsea has to be a must see watch if Your into football -- or its just not Your bag.

What would be the contest to watch in Your opinion? Your the first to disagree with me here, that is good as it is interesting

Agreed Barca v Chelsea on paper seems like appealling viewing and occasionally it can be. And as a big fan of football I try to watch as many games as I have time for, so this fixture is always one to put on the box. I just thought the game did not even come close to being briilliant. The standard of Football was pretty poor and the game played in the typical dirty style I grew accustomed to watching when I was living in Spain. Takes me back to many nights of disgust at watching Figo let his talents play second findle to his poor sportsmanship.

I see better games on 501 Saturday lunch time. And it pains be to say as a lifetime Spurs fan, that the best teams to watch are Arsenal and Manchester United. When these teams getting going their quick counter attacking style is a joy to watch. Seem to shine more away from home this season.

I agree with your comments about John Terry.

It was a very poor match from two sides who have the ability to offer much better VFM.. the last minute excitement just about rescuing the match from room 101 for me......

Given the comments of Mourihno about Barca players' inability to stand up properly, it was very strange to see Chelsea players suffering from the same disability. For a minute I thought an earthquake must be happening given the difficulty most of the players from both sides seemed to be having staying upright..or maybe it was the paella... : D
