Autoshapes In Charts

Hi All,

I have a chart which has Autoshapes linked to other cells in the spreadsheet above each bar on the chart. Is there any way of making them dynamic, so that if the value of the bar changes, the Autoshape will move up or down with that bar?

The only way to get the auto shapes to move is with VBA.

If you use the auto shapes as custom markers in a line series then the movement can be automatic.

Can you post an example?

Thanks for the reply.

The attached is similar to what I want to achieve, with the textboxes (or Autoshapes) moving along with the bars.

You can use the built-in data labels for this. Then all you need to do is link the data labels to the range of cells that have the text you want to display.

To make linking data labels to cells easier use Rob Bovey's free add-in
