    i would like to take the view i see of my Inbox (from, subject, date, etc.)
    and export this to Excel...? (not the text of the email)...?

    In the inbox in outlook select the first email.
    * On the menubar choose Edit/Select All (or just use the shortcut Ctrl+A)
    * Ctrl+C to copy (or Edit/Copy from the menubar)
    * Switch to excel and paste.
    * You can then remove any columns you don't need.


    The columns that are pasted depend on the columns you have setup to show in outlook.
