Share Spreadsheet With Multiple Users

  • Okay, I have looked into this, so really need advice... I have a speadsheet, and at the moment, another spreadsheet access it via a vb code. but i have 3 - 5 agents needing it sometimes at the same time. All that happens, is the agents excel sheet passes some info to the server sheet, so the vb codes opens and closes it. So only one person can do it at the same time.. but i need this so anyone of the agents can enter info via the vb code.

When i tested it, it asked me when i opened it, if i wanted to save what the last person did, I need that not to come up, so really its like the sheet is always open, but not... and lines are added. The info is added to the same sheet, and line by line.

Whats the best way for this? I was thinking of a database, but struggled huge amounts to make vb open it, and put the data in it ?

    whats best way here ?

    Thanks in advance.

I take it the Workbook is being Shared? Unfortunately there are many restrictions to shared Workbooks. Type Shared Workbook Limitations in the Excel help.

You should perhaps consider Access from what you state.

I was thinking of that, but i do not have any books on how to access databases in VB code. I think it would be faster, just very unsure... any good tutorials or books I can by which concentrate on this?

That looked promising, khanhvn, but the download file from their site is throwing Malware warnings from my antivirus program, and their web-site is buggy with a lot of dead links.
