Change Font Color Of Command Buttons

Hi All,

I have this code for 10 Command Buttons to change the font colour. This is part of a much larger piece of code, but to simplify it, I am just using this code:

Sub ForeColour()
    Sheet1.Cat1.ForeColor = &HC0&
    Sheet1.Cat2.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat3.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat4.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat5.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat6.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat7.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat8.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat9.ForeColor = &HFF0000
    Sheet1.Cat10.ForeColor = &HFF0000
End Sub

In Excel 2003, this code works instantaneously, but I am trying to run the same code in Excel 2000 and it takes 10 seconds. Is there any way that I can speed this up in Excel 2000?

The original file was created in Excel 2003, but I have created a new file in Excel 2000 with the 10 buttons on it and the code and it still takes 10 seconds.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestion (in the larger code, the Screen Updating was turned off) but it still takes 10 seconds on 2000. Maybe there is a problem with my Excel 2000, but other codes are working fine.

I have created a new workbook with just the 10 buttons and the code in it (not the full code, just the part for changing the font colour).

Thanks anyway Dave. I just can't understand why it should take so long for such basic code. For the full code, it takes 29 seconds in 2000 and under 1 second in 2003.

Hi Dave,

That's what I was trying to get at in my second post. If you guys don't have a problem with it happening, then there must be something wrong with my Excel 2000, or as you say maybe even the machine. Thanks again for your help.
