Hi,
I would like to know if there is a way to center across a selection in vertically. I know the center across selection horizontal option is in the format cell menu but the vertical equivalent is not there. Does it exist?
Thanks

Re: Center Across Selection Vertical
Select your range then click on the icon for merging and centering cells just as you would for doing it horizontally.

I can't find it in xl2003 (win xp) either. I don't think it exists.

Re: Center Across Selection Vertical
I'm using v2000, so it does exist, although you may not have the icon on your format menu.
Any way, you still accomplish the same thing by selecting the range then going to the menu and choosing Format | Cells. Then select merge and center for bother vertical and horizontal.

Re: Center Across Selection Vertical
That's not what the OP was asking. The cells are not merged with Center-across-selection.

Re: Center Across Selection Vertical
You're right. I read his question too hastily. The only option is to do as I described above.

Re: Center Across Selection Vertical
No, there is no Center Across Selection "vertically". I don't recommend merging cells for any reason. Can you not change the text Orientation and increase the row height.
Re: Center Down Selection Vertically
Hi,
Dave: Your suggestion is a good one but I'm working with a standard form where each row has a specific height. The reason for my question is that I'm implementing code to that form, and I have issues with the merged cells. I'm trying to find a way around it.
