Re: User Conference 2007
Thanks for sharing, Andy. Have put a sticky in the main forum for you.
BTW, I hear you are doing a presentation?
Re: User Conference 2007
Thanks for the sticky Dave.
Yes I'm doing a workshop class on VBA Classes on the Thursday.
And on Friday morning I'm doing a charting presentation.
Here is a link to the conference and add-on sessions
Re: User Conference 2007
Simon did a fantastic job of organising both the technical and social side of the event.
All the feedback I have had so far has been very positive
I'm sure everybody took away something new and or helpful to there daily use of excel.
Nothing in the way of gossip as we were all too busy discussing technical issues.
Although there were some lively debates about coding styles and VBA's future.
Discussion is already underway for 2008's event.
Re: User Conference 2007
Hi Andy
What were the main thoughts on VBA's future? Were there any conversations about its possible replacement (at some stage) by VSTA?

Re: User Conference 2007
The following is all speculation as there was no NDA information discussed
Concensus was that VBA will be around for many years yet.
That said VBA will not change going forward except in terms of the object model. It was agreed that given time even OM changes may stop.
.Net is probably the way things will go but when and in what shape it will enter the application who knows. A few were suprised that VSTA was not part of xl2007.
Re: User Conference 2007
Thanks Andy
Re: User Conference 2007
Thank you Andy! Now, get some gossip, if there is none, make it up
Re: User Conference 2007
That's the spirit!
So, is it true about Bob (Phillips), the whipped cream and the dozen Hula Hula girls?
Re: User Conference 2007

Re: User Conference 2007
You must be thinking of the other conference at the hotel next door
