# [Solved] Formulas: HELP ME PLEASE!!!!!!

• Hello

I am working on a project, and I would greatly appreciate someone wisdom.

Re Formula in Excel

How do I create a "If" equation that states something like

"If a group of cells are greater then 1 please gather information form an assigned "V-Lookup" table?

• Quote

If a group of cells are greater then 1

Do you mean the sum of a range of cells is greater than 1?

OR

Each cell in a group is greater than 1?

This will make a difference in the formula.

• First I would like to say Thank YOU!!!!

I am talking about the sum of a range of cells is greater than 1.

But could you also give the formula for ech cell in a group that is greater than 1?

Thanks again

• Assumptions:

Data to evaluate is in A1 to A6
Lookup value is in column B
Lookup table is in F1 to H3

These formulas in column C do the following:

To perform lookup when SUM is > 1

To perform lookup when ALL CELLS are > 1

To perform lookup when ANY CELL is > 1

Let me know if you need further explanation.

Thank You; I truly appreciate your assistance:)

• Branders...

To save writing all those OR statements, especially if that range is more than 6 cells of data, you could use COUNTIF
i.e.
=IF(COUNTIF(\$A\$1:\$A\$100,">1"),VLOOKUP(B3,\$F\$1:\$H\$3,2,FALSE),"")

Will

• Good point Will, no point in going:

1 tree, 2 trees, 3 trees . . .

when one could simply go

1 forest
