I use excel to print invoices for my business. I save each statement by its statement number. If I look up a statement that I saved for example last year, the date of the original invoice changes to the current date. How can I bring up past invoices without the date changing automatically? Thanks for you help!

Probably the easiest thing to do is creat a macro that is triggered when you print the statement that puts the current date in a cell AS TEXT. That cell would only be changed if you reprinted the statement, not when you simply opened the file to look at it.
You could even add a check to the macro to ask you if you really want to change the date if there already is one present in the target cell. That way you could reprint the statement in hardcopy at a latter date if you needed to without having the date change.

Hi sbouska
I take it you have used the TODAY() Function? I can think of 2 possible solutions.
1) After saving copy the TODAY() function the go to Edit>Paste Special - Values over the top of itself.
2) Enter the curent date using Ctrl+;
If you would prefer the macro approach just yell.
