Determine If Cell Value Exists In A Range

I am trying to make a spreadsheet for bank reconiliation.

I found this formula, =if(countif($B1:$B$1000,D1),D1)=0,D1,"")

but there are two open parathese and three close . What needs to be corrected?

Something like this:
=IF(COUNTIF($B1:$B$1000,D1),0,"")
