Scramble/Randomize Column Values

  • Suppose I have various data in column A. So cell A1 = "A", cell A2 = "B", cell A3 = "C", etc.
I would like to scramble the data in column A so the locations of the data, within column A, are random. Maybe by pressing a button or inputing "1" in cell B1.

    Thank you

  • Re: Scrambling Data In A Column

In column B (or other vacant adajcent column) insert the formula =rand() .

Then copy th formula down for the lenght of column A.
Then sort by the new column of random numbers, and you will have a randomly sorted list in Column A.

THIS IS MY FIRST GO AT ACTUALLY HELPING BUT I THINK THIS WOULD WORK

BUT COLUMN B WILL ALLWAYS BE BLANK
