I know it's a nice easy one, but I have a mental block !!
How can I see which cell a function is pointing to, rather than seeing the value of the cell ??? :flower:

These a few ways, not sure what level you are a or exactly what’s best ill fire a few ideas at you
Select the cell and press F2 this will allow reading the formulae with the reference cells highlighted by boarders and these will be coloured and match the cells address colours in the formula bar
Press CRTL+~ that’s ctrl and tide at the same time will display the cells formula, press again to revert back
That’s should get you going on cell selections that contains a formula

Hi noeyedeer:
If I understand you correctly, what you want to do is click on the cell of interest and then lookup in the formula bar -- the formula bar will display the related cell reference.
Jack has given you a lot more information in his post above.
Thanks Jack,
I have an Offset/Match function in the cell and I am trying to discover which cell it is pointing to (which is on a different worksheet) as the amounts on the sheet are all very similar.
Oh forgot another way that’s useful is:
Right click on the tool bar
Select Formula Auditing
Your see an additional toolbar has appeared
Now select you formula cell
Now click the second button on this formula auditing toolbar, be careful hover on it first should say trace precedents.
You see that the arrow has appeared pointing to key sells and boarders around the ranges
To turn this auditing off
The 3rd button is switch off trace precedents and is correctly called / titled remove precedents arrows
Hope this had help you.
Kindest possible regards
