[Solved] VBA : pop-up to allow user to browse to location of

  • Hi all.

    Not sure if this can be done, but I'm wondering if I could have a sub-routine that when run, it pops up a box that allows the user to browse to the location of the database so that I can capture that path (including the database filename) and use it in the code for the purposes of appending data to that database. Any suggestions?

  • Thanks for the suggestions royUK & Iridium,

    Neither quite hit the mark unfortunately. I found something via the J Walk link, but it was a pretty large bit of coding.

    As it happens though, one of my work colleauges had some knowledge in this area and as a result, the following bit of code does the trick nicely:

    dbLocation = Application.GetOpenFilename("Microsoft Access Database (*.mdb),*.mdb")

    and with a couple of IF statements, I've got it working just as I want.

    Thanks again for your suggestions though.
