• Hi, again,

I am familiar with this option which works fine as far as text is concerned.

However, is there a way to "Auto Complete" Figures (Numbers) ?

What I mean is: If I have a lot of similar Numbers to type into a sheet - I would like to run the Auto-Complete Option on them.

Thaks in advance for any reply.

Such as ? How about using a user defined list?

  • but the Numbers are not constant...

They vary from one day to another and from one file to another.

Therefor a pre-defined list is not the ultimate solution.

    The question remains the same:
Is ther a way to "force" excel to behave and run its "Auto Complete" feature on Figures (Numbers) ?

  • Michael,

    NO.

Excel Help - If the first few characters you type in a cell match an existing entry in that column, Microsoft Excel fills in the remaining characters for you. Microsoft Excel completes only those entries that contain text or a combination of text and numbers; entries that contain only numbers, dates, or times are not completed.

Even formatting the cells as text will not help. The only way to get close is to prefix your numbers with a letter - this means you can no longer use them to make calculations though.
