Copy Cells Into Workbooks Names Mapped From Copy Cell

  • Hi everyone,

I am looking for some help, some big time help because I am well and truly stuck on this, and have no idea how to even start.

I'll lay what I am seeking to do out in steps for ease of reading.

    1. I have a list of data (Collated Data)
    2. For every row in collated data I want to export the cells into a corresponding cell in my predetermined workbook (TAF Form), i.e, Cell C1 on Collated data goes into Cell D3 on TAF Form, cell D1 to cell I3 etc etc
    3. Once all cells in one row have been copied into the TAF Form I want that TAF Form to save as "TAF Form & Employee Name" (which would come from cell D3).
    4. I then want "TAF Form & Employee Name" to close.
    5. I then want the Macro to do the same thing for Row 2, copy the cells, save the form, close the form
    6. I want to do this for every row that I have (which varies).

Is this possible? If you have any more questions in terms of what I need, don't hesitate to ask.

This seems like a big ask so I am really grateful for any suggestions you guys might have.

    Thanks in advance

Corresponding cells? I don't see any correspondence in that mapping.

You already used cells from row 2, and some from row 3...?

    Close the close?

    ??

    What's a TAF Form?

Maybe posting the form, some sample data, a filled-out form, and an explanation in context would help.

I typo'ed on the mapping, it should have been C1 into D3, and D1 into I3.

I want the macro to copy all the cells in row 1 into the cells I define in in the TAF Form Workbook (see above)

    Close the close (typo)

Once the Macro has copied all the cells in row 1 into the TAF Form, which has saved and close itself, I then want the Macro to copy all the cells in row 2 into the TAF Form, then row 3 etc etc etc

The TAF Form is simply the name of the workbook I want the cells to copy into, before it saves itself.

Is the following the kind of mapping you are looking for

    Collated Data sheet TAF Sheet
    C1 D3
    D1 I3
    E1 N3
    F1 T3

and then move onto the next row ???

I'm confident this is the best way of helping us to help you. Your task seems like a series of fairly simple operations, but we don't like to waste time solving the wrong puzzle, if you see what I mean.
