[Solved] Formulas : if statement

Hello:

I want to write the follwing formula in excel:

If cell A1 is blank, return a "yes", otherwise, return a "no"

=IF(ISBLANK(A1),"Yes","No")

Try:

=IF(ISBLANK(A1)=TRUE,"yes","no")

=IF(LEN(A1)=0,"Yes","No")

or

=IF(ISBLANK(A1),"Yes", "No")

Note these will give slightly different results in some cases. If A1 has a formula that returns "" as a result, then the LEN version will call it blank, the ISBLANK version will not. Usually the LEN version provides the answer most folks are after.
