Does anyone know of an OCR Excel Add-In that will extract the text from an imported picture?
It really has to be an add-in since I want to operate the OCR process within VBA.
Any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

You will need Microsoft Office Document Imaging (MODI) for sure
With this you can play with scanning image files... But no Idea on how to approach with VBA.
Check for MODI VBA reference here on how to deal with.

Just to mention quickly that MODI is not installed by default so you may need to add it in with your 2007 installation process. Despite it being an excellent package with reasonably good VB/VBA integration it has been depricated in Office 2010.

Thank you both for your advice. I tried playing with MODI but had little success and then stumbled across OneNote which is perfect. However, i'm struggling to get Excel VBA to control it. Does anyone have any experience with OneNote?
