Hi All
I have two columns alongside each other. The first column is a drop down box of either "Y" or "N". The second column houses a formula.
How would I get the formula to be called only if the adjacent dropdown box = "Y"?
Essentially, I am trying to protect the formula in the second column and I want the the cells in the second column to be input cells only if the drop down box = "N". I have thousands of rows so also cant only apply to a single row.
Thanks for your time!
Call formula if drop down box is cerain value

Re: Call formula if drop down box is cerain value
Do you mean you want the user to be able to overwrite the formula in the second column if the corresponding dropdown contains an 'N'??
Perhaps it might be useful if you posted a stripped down version of your workbook to help clarify...
Re: Call formula if drop down box is cerain value
Well I would like the formula to be called only if the user selects "Y" in lookup up previous SP or GP. The thing is I dont want the end users tinkering around with formulas, so if they put in their own custom values in the J column, I want to be able to make it that if they reselect "Y" in the I column, the formula is recalled into the J column cell without them having to copy and paste the formula down from the cells above it.
I hope I am explaining myself clearly.
